As always, it’s all about compression, which is why we’ve created Timbre — an all-tube vari-mu compressor based on the classic 6386 tube, inspired by the iconic and highly sought-after Gates STA-Level compressor. Timbre is simple to use, delivering rich color and sweetness, designed with the finest components for a truly vintage sound.
To enhance the original design, we’ve introduced new features like a third mode of operation with a faster attack time, a high-pass sidechain filter, stereo linking capabilities, and a bypass function. Timbre also utilizes a unique program-controlled release circuit, allowing for smooth and consistent compression while avoiding the typical side effects, even with up to 40dB of gain reduction!
